Senators Announce House Companion to Kids’ Online Privacy Bill

A bipartisan House duo will introduce companion legislation to a Senate bill that aims to improve online privacy and safety protections for kids, injecting fresh momentum into the languished effort and raising the prospects of action.

Reps. Tim Walberg (R-Mich.) and Kathy Castor (D-Fla.), who sit on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, this week will unveil the House version of the Children and Teens’ Online Privacy Protection Act, Sens. Ed Markey (D-Mass.) and Bill Cassidy (R-La.), lead sponsors of the Senate bill, announced on Monday.
