Federal agencies would regain authority to respond to drone threats near airports and other sensitive locations under bipartisan legislation introduced Monday.
The bill would extend for three years legal authority that expired on Sept. 30 that empowers the Justice and Homeland Security departments to use force against threatening drones. Its introduction adds to growing pressure on Washington leaders to address standalone issues during the shutdown.
