Democrats running for the Senate and House hold the cash advantage in the final weeks of the campaigns.

Big-money outside groups, on both sides of the aisle, are rushing to tip the balance in pivotal battlegrounds, with cash from the likes of billionaire tech moguls such as Elon Musk.

Those are some of the main takeaways from the third-quarter campaign fundraising reports filed this week. The price tag for the 2024 federal elections is likely to exceed $15.9 billion, according to an OpenSecrets.org estimate.
