South Carolina Democrat Clyburn Seeking Reelection to House Seat

Rep. James Clyburn of South Carolina, one of the highest-ranking and longest-serving Black lawmakers in US history, said he’ll run for reelection to the House seat he’s held for more than three decades.

“I’m here today to say I do believe that I’m very well-equipped and healthy enough to move into the next term,” Clyburn (D) said Thursday at the South Carolina Democratic Party’s headquarters in Columbia.
