Stefanik Joins Speaker’s Republican Critics Over Defense Bill

Rep. Elise Stefanik, a member of House Speaker Mike Johnson’s Republican leadership team, threatened to tank defense and intelligence legislation in a post accusing the speaker of getting “rolled” by Democrats.

The New York gubernatorial candidate was referring to an amendment to the Intelligence Authorization Act, which advanced out of committee, that would require Congress to be notified if the FBI opens investigations into presidential and federal candidates.
