Swalwell Named to Lead Democrats on New GOP-Led Jan. 6 Probe

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) named California Rep. Eric Swalwell — a vocal critic of President Donald Trump who served as an impeachment manager in 2021 — to serve as the top Democrat on the Judiciary Committee’s newly-formed Jan. 6 panel Monday.

Reps. Jared Moskowitz (D-Fla.) and Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) were also appointed to the subcommittee, with Judiciary ranking member Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) serving as an ex officio member.
