Ted Cruz Warns of 2026 Risk for GOP as Protests Show Voter Anger

Texas Senator Ted Cruz said that Republicans must take seriously the surge of political energy across the country after millions of people turned out for “No Kings” protests over the weekend opposing President Donald Trump’s agenda.

“Unquestionably, we should take political peril seriously,” Cruz said in a Bloomberg Television interview on Monday. “There is a lot of energy. There is a lot of anger on the left. And elections can be dangerous when one side is mobilized, is angry.”

Democrats need to vote to end the US government shutdown, Sen. Ted Cruz says, accusing the party of holding “the American people hostage.” The Texas senator spoke about flight delays and withheld pay caused by the shutdown.
