Texas lawmakers are weighing new transparency requirements for data centers after state agencies said they lack complete information on how much water the rapidly expanding industry consumes.
The Texas House Natural Resources Committee on Tuesday examined whether the state should require more reporting from data centers as residents raise concerns over the facilities’ strain on water supplies and the electric grid.
