Texas Sues to Block EEOC Guidance Protecting Gender Identity (1)

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is suing the EEOC to thwart agency guidance on workplace harassment that shields LGBTQ+ employees who seek to use pronouns and bathrooms consistent with their gender identity.

Paxton alleged in the lawsuit filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of Texas that the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s April 29 guidance is a violation of Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act.
