Spring is the season for House members to announce 2026 bids for Senate or governor — statewide campaigns that require more time and preparation than running for re-election in congressional districts.
The newest House-to-Senate hopeful is Rep. Buddy Carter (R-Ga.), who on Thursday announced a campaign to unseat Sen. Jon Ossoff, the only Democratic senator seeking re-election in a state that preferred Donald Trump in the 2024 election.
