TikTok-Famous Texas Democrat Unveils ‘Underdog’ US Senate Bid

Texas State Representative James Talarico is jumping into the Democratic primary for US Senate in Texas, taking on a former congressman while the Republican race remains a toss-up between the state’s firebrand attorney general and Senator John Cornyn.

Talarico announced his campaign Tuesday by attacking billionaires’ influence in politics and vowing to “take back power for working people.”

“This is an underdog fight,” he said in a statement. “We’re going up against the political establishment, and we’re going up against a lot of money.”
