Top Democrat Jeffries Confident GOP Redistricting Push Fails

Top House Democrat Hakeem Jeffries said he’s confident that a push by Republicans to redraw congressional districts nationwide will fail to give the GOP a decisive advantage in next year’s midterm elections.

Democrats, who likely need a net gain of just three House seats to win the majority, are on track to take back control the chamber, the New York Democrat said in an interview with Bloomberg reporters and editors Wednesday.

“They are not going to achieve a steep advantage,” Jeffries said. “It’s just not mathematically possible.”
