The Trump administration has limited options to make further homeland security service cuts to pressure congressional Democrats without disrupting core safety and security missions, former officials said.
Over the weekend, the Department of Homeland Security cut dedicated Global Entry lanes for travelers entering the US, paused airport police escorts members of Congress, and suspended non-disaster related FEMA programs.
