The Trump administration is urging Congress to swiftly reopen the Department of Homeland Security, telling the House to pass the budget resolution and funding legislation passed by the Senate.
The Office of Management and Budget sent a memo Tuesday night to House lawmakers that warned that the administration is running out of money to pay the thousands of DHS workers affected by the partial shutdown. OMB warned the funds will run out next month.
“Failure to pass the budget resolution immediately will jeopardize paychecks for the DHS personnel that keep the Homeland safe,” OMB said.
