The Trump administration plans to rescind a Biden-era domestic terrorism strategy established in the wake of the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol.
The Department of Homeland Security revealed the plans in response to a Government Accountability Office report released Wednesday. The government watchdog office reviewed the 2021 strategy and made recommendations for improving coordination among federal agencies and partners.
DHS disagreed with the findings, saying it “understands that the National Security Council is currently in the process of developing a new counterterrorism strategy” and that the 2021 strategy “will be rescinded.”
