The Interior Department is moving to revive a controversial mining project near a beloved wilderness area in Minnesota — the latest in a series of reversals by Democratic and Republican administrations that have kept the project in limbo since the Obama administration.
Deputy Secretary Katharine MacGregor rescinded a legal opinion used by President Joe Biden’s administration to cancel leases for the Twin Metals Minnesota project.
