Social media influencer Laura Loomer, who is close to President Donald Trump, is floating an alternate name for surgeon general nominee as the current one’s prospects seem to be dimming in the Senate.
Loomer told Bloomberg Government in an exclusive interview that Thomas Roush, a spine surgeon with practices in West Palm Beach, Fla., who frequently plays golf with Trump, is in consideration if surgeon general nominee Casey Means falls flat. She was “told months ago by a White House adviser that Tom Roush was being considered as a possible replacement.”
