President Donald Trump spent his first day in office attacking his enemies and unleashing a torrent of executive orders to advance his agenda, undermining calls for unity in his inaugural address earlier in the day.
Within minutes of a somewhat optimistic inaugural address in the Capitol rotunda—in which he declared “impossible is what we do best” in America—Trump gave a second speech to supporters two floors below excoriating political rivals, signaling it was the message he wanted to give all along.
