Trump DoorDasher, Business Lobbies Tout GOP Breaks for Tax Day

President Donald Trump’s DoorDash Inc. delivery person, Sharon Simmons, appeared on Capitol Hill Tuesday with House GOP lawmakers to tout the mega tax-and-budget law that exempted thousands of dollars in tips from taxation.

“The savings from no tax on tips, it’s made an enormous impact positively on the lives of myself, my husband and our extended family,” Simmons said during a roundtable in the Capitol organized by House GOP Conference Chair Lisa McClain (R-Mich.). It came one day after Simmons made a high-profile dash to the White House to deliver McDonald’s takeout to Trump.
