Trump Extends Aid for Infants, Mothers During Food Stamp Delay

The Trump administration has tapped $450 million in trade revenue to keep afloat a nutrition aid program for low-income mothers and their young children as the government shutdown nears a record length.

Officials at the Agriculture Department, responsible for administering the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children, tapped unused revenue from customs receipts to keep WIC benefits funded, according to records uploaded Friday by the White House Office of Management and Budget.
