Trump Has Frozen $437 Billion in Funds, Democratic Lawmakers Say

President Donald Trump and Elon Musk have frozen or canceled more than twice as much in federal spending as the DOGE’s website claims, House and Senate Democratic appropriators said Monday.

Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) and Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn.) on Tuesday morning released a list of 114 instances in which the Trump administration has blocked federal spending, totaling $436.9 billion. The Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Energy Department, and the Transportation Department have experienced the biggest funding freezes, according to the webpage.
