Trump Impeacher Newhouse Won’t Seek Re-Election to House in 2026

Rep. Dan Newhouse (R-Wash.), who voted to impeach President Donald Trump and faced his ire over it, won’t seek re-election to the House in the 2026 election.

“I am truly humbled by this uniquely American journey that took a farm boy from Sunnyside, Washington clear across the country to represent his friends and neighbors in the ‘other’ Washington,” Newhouse said in a statement Wednesday. “I will continue to serve my district with energy and enthusiasm until the end of my term.”
