The Trump administration envisions further cuts to the Interior Department in its fiscal 2027 budget request justification published Friday.
The proposal would give Interior $15.9 billion for its total budget, a $2.3 billion—or 12.9%—drop from the 2026 enacted level. It further expands its focus on fossil fuels development and mining.
