Trump Rejects Transition Funds, Declines to Disclose Donors (1)

President-elect Donald Trump (R) will not receive federal funds to pay for his presidential transition until he agrees to cap private donations to the effort, the General Services Administration said Wednesday afternoon.

Congress set aside $19.4 million for the presidential transition after Election Day. To get the funding, Trump would have to agree to disclose in February the date, source, and amount of any donations to his transition. He’d also have to cap donations at $5,000 per person. Trump hasn’t committed to that, GSA said.
