Trump Meets Top Georgia Senate Hopeful as Endorsement Awaits

Rep. Buddy Carter (R-Ga.) is meeting with President Donald Trump at the White House on Tuesday to discuss his Senate bid, according to two sources familiar with planning.

The president has yet to weigh in directly on the hotly contested three-member GOP primary for Georgia’s Senate race, as Republicans vie for the nomination to challenge Democrat Jon Ossoff. A Trump endorsement can carry great weight with primary voters, although in some cases Trump will endorse multiple candidates rather than risk backing a loser.
