The US Senate Tuesday confirmed Joshua Rudd, President Donald Trump’s pick to lead both US Cyber Command and the National Security Agency, after a Democratic holdup over concerns about the nominee’s experience and understanding of surveillance guardrails.
The upper chamber voted 71-29 to back Rudd’s promotion to the rank of general to lead Cyber Command and NSA. Both agencies have been without a permanent leader since Trump fired Gen. Timothy Haugh almost a year ago.
