Trump Plans ‘Patriot Games,’ National Fair for 250th Anniversary

President Donald Trump announced a slew of events to celebrate America’s 250th birthday next year, including a parade, athletic competition for high schoolers and fair on the National Mall.

The president said a new organization — called Freedom 250 — would work with states, companies and organizations across the country to put on the events.

“We will renew the patriotism, pride and pioneering spirit of America and lay the groundwork for the next 250 years of independence and freedom,” Trump said in a video taped in the Oval Office and released Thursday.
