In theory, Friday is a critical point for the Iran war and Congress. But reality is different.

The day marks 60 days since President Donald Trump notified Congress of his attacks on Iran — a landmark even many Republicans have pointed to as a critical juncture. After that, a strict reading of US law says the president has to get approval from Congress to keep fighting a war, or seek a month-long extension.
