Trump Seeks $6 Million for Legal Costs of Georgia Election Case

President Donald Trump is asking to be paid $6.2 million for legal costs by the district attorney’s office in Georgia that charged him with trying to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.

Trump’s lawyers said in a court filing Wednesday he is due the money under a new Georgia law that requires defendants to be reimbursed for attorney fees and other costs in cases in which prosecutors have engaged in improper conduct and been disqualified.
