White House Prepares Rescissions Proposal
It’s rescissions week in Congress, as President Donald Trump uses a rare maneuver to expedite a vote to claw back billions in international aid, as well as funding for PBS and NPR.
Senate Appropriations Chair Susan Collins (R-Maine) said she expects a proposal today from the White House to rescind $9.4 billion in old funds. White House Office of Management and Budget Director Russell Vought already said he’s sending the request, which would mostly apply to funds for the US Agency for International Development as well as the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
