After President Donald Trump unveiled a new volley of reciprocal tariffs on countries around the globe Wednesday, Republican calls to claw back Congress’ tariff power multiplied.

Today, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa)—a senior member on the Finance and Agriculture committees—cosponsored a measure requiring the president notify Congress of any tariff decisions and explain them. The bipartisan legislation would also sunset tariffs after 60 days unless lawmakers voted to approve them.
