The General Services Administration would oversee two-thirds of all federal contracts under President Donald Trump’s latest plan to remake how Washington works, a 20-fold increase in GSA’s purchasing power, according to details of internal changes obtained by Bloomberg Government.

In a March 20 executive order, Trump directed federal agencies to submit plans to consolidate procurement for “common goods and services” under GSA, which puts the agency in charge of contracts in 10 broad market categories that were worth $495 billion in fiscal 2024.
