President Donald Trump on Tuesday warned House Republicans against making major changes to Medicaid as they negotiate a sweeping tax and policy package, according to lawmakers who attended the meeting.

Trump trekked to the Capitol as House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) scrambles to pass sweeping legislation filled with many of the administration’s domestic priorities, including extending the 2017 tax cuts and increasing defense and border spending.
