Trump Tells House GOP to Pass D.C. Budget Fix ‘Immediately’ (1)

President Donald Trump called for the House to vote on the Senate’s D.C. budget fix “IMMEDIATELY,” boosting the odds of the GOP freeing up $1 billion from the capital city’s coffers.

The Senate unanimously approved the fix (S. 1077) earlier this month, after the House passed a funding stopgap that would impose cuts on D.C.’s local budget. Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) has yet to put the D.C. budget fix on the floor, though, and freeing up funds for the blue city may run into opposition from some of the House’s fiscal hawks.
