Trump Urges House GOP to Revamp Voting Bill and Pass It Again

President Donald Trump implored House Republicans to re-draft and pass voting legislation with new restrictions on mail-in voting, among other requirements, to increase pressure on the Senate to act ahead of the midterm elections.

Trump, in a speech to GOP lawmakers at their annual retreat at his resort in Doral, Fla., said they should write a new version of the SAVE America Act that would require proof of citizenship to vote and prohibit voter registration by mail. House Republicans passed a version of the bill last month along party lines.
