President Donald Trump is planning a robust travel schedule through the midterm elections to tout Republican candidates, including to some swing districts.
With an eye on the president’s flagging popularity and control of Congress at stake, Democrats say they welcome Trump’s presence.
“When Trump comes to town and offers his ‘complete and total endorsement’ of vulnerable House Republicans, it’s a reminder that they are bear-hugging the president’s unpopular agenda instead of acting as independent voices advocating for their communities,” said Eli Cousin, DCCC spokesperson in a statement.
