Donald Trump’s choice to lead the US Transportation Department vowed to ensure Boeing Co. implements a plan to bolster its safety and manufacturing practices if confirmed for the role.
“Boeing is a national security issue. Boeing is the largest exporter of American product,” Transportation Secretary nominee Sean Duffy told members of the Senate Commerce Committee on Wednesday. “In one of my meetings, someone said they need ‘tough love,’ which is what they do need.”
