Two Republican Senators Call for Noem to Step Down From DHS (1)

Two Senate Republicans said Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem should lose her job Tuesday, underscoring her shaky standing after two deadly shootings by immigration officers in Minnesota this month.

“I would not support her again and I think it probably is time for her to step down,” said Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska).

Murkowski said Noem’s rhetoric after the Saturday killing of Alex Pretti was “not helpful.”

“Accountability goes all the way to the top, and I think you have a secretary right now that needs to be accountable to the chaos and some of the tragedy that we have seen,” ...
