UK Revamps AI Strategy Following Vance’s Push for Tech Dominance

The Trump administration’s resounding push to bolster the artificial intelligence industry is winning over international allies as the UK reshapes its governance strategy to better align with the US.

The UK’s AI Safety Institute will be renamed to the “AI Security Institute,” focused on the technology’s most extreme risks, such as enabling cyberattacks or bioweapon development, rather than harms related to free speech or bias, UK Tech Secretary Peter Kyle plans to announce Friday, according to a press release.
