US Congressional Budget Office Systems Hacked, Probe Underway

The US Congressional Budget Office, which provides analysis on the budgetary impact of legislation, confirmed Thursday that its systems were hacked.

“The incident is being investigated and work for the Congress continues,” spokesperson Caitlin Emma said. “Like other government agencies and private sector entities, CBO occasionally faces threats to its network and continually monitors to address those threats.”

News of the hack was first reported by The Washington Post.
