US Convenes Foes Morocco, Algeria for Western Sahara Talks (1)

The US said it convened rivals Morocco and Algeria for rare talks over the fate of the Western Sahara, as the Trump administration tries to resolve one of Africa’s longest-running territorial disputes.

Senior delegations from the US and United Nations “facilitated discussions” with Morocco, Algeria, Mauritania and the rebel Polisario Front in the Spanish capital, Madrid, the US mission to the UN said Monday in a statement.
