US, Greenland Pledge ‘Mutual Respect’ at Talks Over the Arctic

The US and Greenland pledged “mutual respect” on Monday as they convened with Denmark for annual talks on cooperation in the High North.

The meeting in Nuuk on Monday marked the first trip to Greenland for the new US ambassador to Denmark, Ken Howery, in the aftermath of President Donald Trump’s stated wish to take control of the island, which is a semi-autonomous territory of Denmark.
