US Joint Chiefs Chair to Visit Base Amid Venezuela Tensions (1)

General Dan Caine, chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, will meet service members of the US Southern Command on Monday in Puerto Rico, where the American military presence has swelled as the Trump administration weighs military action against Venezuela.

The Pentagon said in a statement that Caine and David L. Isom, a Navy SEAL and senior advisor to Caine, will visit the US territory where most of the 10,000 US troops in the Caribbean theater are thought to be stationed.
