US Officially Cancelling 83% of Programs at USAID, Rubio Says

The US is “officially cancelling 83% of the programs at USAID” following a 6-week review, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said in a post on X.

  • Says 5,200 contracts are now cancelled
  • Intends for the roughly 1,000 remaining programs to be administered “more effectively” under the State Department
