US Surgeon General Hearing Delayed After Nominee Goes Into Labor

A Senate confirmation hearing on Thursday for President Donald Trump’s nominee for US Surgeon General, Casey Means, has been postponed because she has gone into labor, a spokesperson for the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee said Thursday.

Means was more than 40 weeks pregnant, according to prepared remarks for the hearing. She had been scheduled to appear virtually.
