US Agriculture Department inspector general nominee John Walk got another Senate vote of approval on Thursday.
- Walk advanced out of Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs in an 8-1 vote
- Sen.
Maggie Hassan (D-N.H.) voted no by proxy for six Democrats not present, whose votes were counted only for the record - Walk faced questions about his political independence and food stamp fraud during a Wednesday confirmation hearing
- The nominee now awaits a full Senate vote, which has not been scheduled
