Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) will seek to block the Trump administration from keeping the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s headquarters in Washington, DC, reversing a Biden-era decision for the bureau to relocate to Maryland.
Van Hollen, the top Democrat on the Senate Appropriations Commerce-Justice-Science Subcommittee, Wednesday afternoon forced the subcommittee to hold a markup to address the FBI’s relocation.
The Trump administration has “not done any of the years of work that went into the selection process” for the FBI to relocate, Van Hollen said at the markup, noting the several years-long vetting process to move the bureau’s headquarters.
