Vice President JD Vance wants Senate Republicans to force a vote on attaching voter ID legislation to a renewal of the lapsed surveillance law, breaking with party leaders who’ve written the pairing off.
Vance told reporters Thursday that Senate Republican leaders should at least try to round up support for the SAVE America Act before ruling out attaching it to FISA. The push comes after Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.) called linking the two bills “unrealistic.”
