Vermont lawmakers are relaunching the fight for consumer privacy protections with three bills that retool a measure Gov. Phil Scott (R) vetoed last year.
Three bills sponsored by state Rep. Monique Priestley (D) would limit how businesses collect and use personal data, regulate data brokers, and place guardrails on how sites design their products for children. Priestley said in a phone interview she expects to introduce the bills Thursday.
