Virginia’s Democratic legislature took another step toward overhauling the state’s congressional districts more to their party’s advantage before the Nov. 3 midterm election.
The House of Delegates voted 62-33 along party lines Wednesday for a proposed state constitutional amendment that would temporarily permit the legislature to redraw Virginia’s 11 districts. The House Privileges and Elections Committee voted 15-7 earlier Wednesday to advance the proposal.
